i started a decking and fencing business on my own at weekends now my boss has found out he wants me to stop or resign.
i think only if it effects the work you do for him or if it is a conflict of interest. if you work for his company and it does the same or similar work, it’s a conflict of interest. you could be taking his customers.
can my boss sack me for starting my own business on the side?
can I actually get paid if I work part time job from home, or is it just a lie to try to steal my money?
I am a college student who wants to make an extra and easy money. I looked online for part time jobs, and I keep running into those jobs from home. Can I actually get paid like 200$ a day by just entering few information, or are they just after my money that i will pay as a registeration fee?
Most of what you’re seeing and looking at and for are scams.
No, you cannot get paid $200 (or $100, or $50, or $10) a day just by entering some information. There’s even a poster here who’s promoting these online surveys and at least she’s providing links to actual checks she’s received. (The fine print reveals she gets paid extra by those companies for posting those checks online.) Still, they’re for small amounts of money–like $30 a month.
You’re a college student. You’re a smart kid. Figure out something people really will be willing to pay you for. One caution: It’s difficult to make "easy money." Extra: Yes. Even good money: Yes. But "easy money"? Very, very rare.
Oh, and never pay an up-front registration fee. Never.
How do I find an legitimate work at home job?
I am a disabled stay at home wife seeking a real work from home job.I’ve tried so many opportunities for data entry, taking surveys, stuffing envelopes and MLM.They are all misleading and are 100% scams. The so-called home jobs like data entry charge to get access to their data base of jobs, but I never fall for that trick.Do any one know any real home jobs that don’t beg for your wallet?
This website offers work from home. They also have a links page with more info and other programs. You can also add your own links. http://www.webspawner.com/users/enterdat…
Some free and some have a small fee.
Great Hotel Franchising Tips
Hotel franchising is a popular concept today, that covers not only the franchising of hotels, but also the franchising of motels, inns and other lodging and boarding options.
When compared to the franchising of a restaurant or fast food chain, hotel franchising involves lots of technicalities.Running a hotel involves much more responsibilities, investments and work than running a restaurant or food outlet. With hotel franchising, you can find hotel chains in different parts of the world.
You have to carry out lots of research if you are thinking of getting yourself a hotel franchise. When you are going through the franchising process with its agents, make sure that you are careful, thorough and attentive.
Make sure you will be able to bear all the maintenance, setup and running costs of the hotel franchise as hotel franchising is an expensive affair. As the franchisor has to be someone you can trust, you have to find out all you can about the person before entering into any agreement with the person.
Before you become a franchisee, it would be better on your part to check on the franchisor’s hotel’s past and present reputation. It would be good for you to check on the other hotel franchises to find out more about the support provided to them by the franchisor.
You can also learn more about the running of the hotel, based on the franchisor’s methods. You will also be able to learn more about the hotel’s policies and quality standards that are maintained by the hotel franchises.
There should be sufficient proof provided to you by the hotel management to find out more about the experienced way their other hotel franchises are managed. However, before considering hotel franchising, it is mandatory that you understand the hotel industry and its market thoroughly. This way you will understand what the franchisor wants from its franchises and work to fulfil them.

AffiloBlueprint Review
Are you also actually uninterested of all these ‘guru’ products on the Internet that happen these days? It looks like everyone has created a video course, an ebook or some other product which ‘guarantees’ that you will become successful. The truth is though, most of these ebooks are a waste of time and money – but it can be really hard work to find out which ones are the golden ones; and every one of us have been taken in by a product that ended up as a time waster AT MINIMUM once. Affilo Blueprint however, was not a disappointment.
Affilo Blueprint Review: Let’s start talking about what AffiloBlueprint really is. Made by Super-Affiliate Mark Ling and his Affilorama team, Affilo Blueprint claims to be a complete formula for creating profitable affiliate sites. When the course was released the first time last year, Mark Ling actually has been using this formula to set up a site in front of a live audience – a site which in turn ended up generating $500 per month in profit! In this new launch, Ling does use that same technology, but with an improved format and more complete lessons.
What actually is this ‘formula’? The entire idea of Affilo Blueprint is that you are able to setup several websites, in any niche you can think of, by using the same methods over and over again. This means you can build a whole bunch of small $50 per week sites, and then just build up your income by creating a lot of niche sites. Then, as Mark Ling says, if you reinvest some of that cash back into the sites in the way of writing content and Search Engine Optimization campaigns, you can extremely quickly accelerate your income into the thousands per week – just by starting with several $50 a week affiliate sites. This is got to be one of the simplest, but yet most effective methods I’ve seen for building this level of earnings with affiliate marketing.
But what is covered in this course? Affilo Blueprint is a 12 week course with over 50 video lessons. Starting out with how to find a profitable niche and researching the market, you are taken through finding keywords, creating blog posts, setting up a niche site, search- engine-optimization, building newsletters, analysing statistics and troubleshooting (the troubleshooting lesson is brilliant!), and ppc. So as you can see, very complete!
The only drawback with this course is that, with so many information inside this course, you might be encouraged to skip parts. You never should do it! Everything in this course is there for a reason, and if you follow it step-by-step, you will almost certainly be in a position to build a money making niche site.
You also receive a custom made WordPress template when you buy the AffiloBlueprint, so if you never built a affiliate site before, you can just take a template built by affiliate marketing experts to create your website. It is obvious that Mark Ling has gone to a lot of trouble to make this product as newbie-proof as possible. Every step is actually clearly explained and there is no assumption of knowledge, so if you’re just starting out, Affilo Blueprint is for you. If you do have some experience with affiliate marketing however, you will still find the step-by-step structure of AffiloBlueprint useful. This may be what you need to push up your profits or fix your unprofitable niche sites.
At the end, I highly recommend Affilo Blueprint as one of the best affiliate training products I’ve reviewed.

Why Franchise in Canada
Nearly half of all new retail businesses in Canada are franchised businesses, and Canada is now considered a leader in the franchising industry. Now is, therefore, an opportune time to consider expansion by penetrating the Canadian franchise market.Whether you are a seasoned international franchisor or franchising for the first time, there are a lot of business and legal issues to consider when franchising in Canada. This includes cultural challenges, disclosure compliance, anti-trust laws, and intellectual property protection. It is advisable to consult with a Franchise Attorney before setting up your franchise in the country, as franchisors operating in Canada are subject to both federal and provincial laws. Your attorney can help you understand these legal considerations.
Licensing, franchise & distribution, intellectual property, multi-level marketing, general corporate commercial law, and transporting franchise systems into and from Canada are some of the fields of law related to franchising. Most franchise attorneys are able to provide a complete range of legal services related to franchising, including document preparation, analysis, and advice.
A good franchise lawyer is a specialist in his field who is able to meet the needs of various clients. For instance, a startup franchise system may need help with drawing up documentation to sell franchises; a mature international franchise system may want to penetrate the Canadian market; a prospective franchisee would possibly need assistance reviewing documents provided by the franchisor. A franchise attorney with business experience in franchising is a big plus, since he will be able to give his clients first-hand advice based on his own business experience.
Intellectual property is a vital consideration when starting any kind of business, and not just a franchise business. Trademarking and protecting intellectual property play an important role in protecting creative works and ideas from infringement anywhere in the world. A franchise attorney can dispense invaluable advice on copyrights, industrial design, and patent issues. A franchise attorney who is also a registered Canadian trademark agent can also protect his client’s business by properly registering and managing the business’s trademarks.
In need of a simple summer Job where I can be my OWN boss but still make a reasonable amount of cash??
Well I’m a teenager and I REALLY need a job. I don’t want to work at the typical McDonalds or some fast food place. Plus Im not old enough to have a good job (not over 18 and barely at 16). I need some suggestions? I’ve tried babysitting but it doesn’t make as much money as I’d like. I’ve thought of tutoring but its almost the summer schools almost out. what else can I do? I enjoy kids and I do enjoy interacting with people. I’m a good typist and reliable. Suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!
Ever thought of a paper route? I used to work at the local newspaper here. The delivery job itself has evolved. Most routes pay $100 a week. Sure you have to get up early but you have all day to be a teen.
How early should I start applying for a part-time, hourly job?
I am in college right now and would like to pursue a part time job next semester, which starts Jan. 7. When should I start looking for and applying to jobs?
I would start now. Start picking up some applications and fill them out at home. Put on them the date you are available to start work. I’d start dropping them off right after Christmas. Don’t overlook applying for jobs online. Jobbing.com is a good site. Good luck!
What are some reputable companies that offer work at home positions?
I have good typing and phone skills and want to find a major company that has a work at home position. I am not interested in a "start your own business" deal where you have to invest money.
Look on http://www.simplyhired.com and search for telecommuting jobs. There are some jobs out there.
Good luck.

Doctor Who: Time Crash – Special Edition (Part 2)
The second part of my own personalised special edition of the Doctor Who mini-episode “Time Crash” from the perspective of the 5th Doctor – Peter Davison – featuring the classic Doctor Who story “Time-Flight”.
Additional description:
However, this isn’t a completely new idea, as jwitchell88 aired a video of it first using Mawdryn Undead. The online Doctor Who forums settled on Mawdryn Undead as the mostly likely episode to be around Time Crash. However, if you think about the references made during the episode – Nyssa, Tegan, The Master, Mara, Timelords, and Cybermen – the episode could take place anytime between the end of the Arc of Infinity and Mawdryn Undead. Unfortunately though, I forgot about the Timelord reference and as you can see from the video, settled on the infamous Time-Flight for my video. Still, despite this one big mistake, I made a good effort to make it work with editing, mixed in model sequences and a ‘next time’ trailer to finish it off. Unfortunately the final edit of the video was 13 and a half minutes long, so I had to edit it into 2 parts especially for YouTube.
So although it’s a bit of a mistake, I hope you enjoy the offerings of my efforts once more, and try to imagine if this video actually worked and was in canon.

Common Internet Marketing Blunders
If you’re just starting on your goal to start a small business online or make money blogging, then you’re luckier than you think. It’s true that online businesses and profit-driven blogging hasn’t just become a common way to earn money, but it’s also become a most competitive industry. What works to your advantage, however, is the fact that there’s a lot of information now on how you can earn money from your site. Advice is all over the place, as are tutorials and instructional manuals on how you can put up your online store or start blogging for money.
A basic piece of advice that you’ll encounter is one that encourages you to make a blueprint for your online marketing strategy. If you’re no stranger to blogging for profit, you would know by now that a good internet marketing strategy is indispensable when it comes to earning money from your site. Essentially, this means that you must find an effective way to promote your products and services through your blog or website.
What a lot of neophytes are unaware of, however, is the fact that not all internet marketing strategies will work for their benefit. Some of the information about internet marketing is actually not credible, and can be more damaging to your online enterprise and your efforts to make money blogging. Are you also committing these internet marketing blunders? Read on to find out what you should NOT do if you want to launch a successful promotional campaign for your blog:
1. Building a website that’s great to look at – but takes ages to load:
It’s good to put effort into your blog’s appearance, to make it as attractive as possible to create a favorable impression on your visitors. What won’t work, however, is a blog design that takes forever to load on the screen, or a site that’s bogged down by too many high-end applications. Take into account the fact that nobody wants to wait too long, especially if it’s just a web page that could’ve loaded in a second or two. Ultimately, a gorgeous site that takes too much time to load is just as bad as an ugly template. Both of them make your readers feel like you’re wasting their time, and they’ll just end up moving on to other blogs where they can get what they want in a few seconds.
2. Expending minimal effort at keyword research:
Some bloggers and online businesspeople think that keyword research stops at finding out which search terms get the most number of hits on Google. Sure, these are all part of the whole package. But have you actually come up with a keyword research system that will really make your site earn money?
Don’t just stop at looking up keyword rankings and finding out how many people, on average, are using the search terms, “how to lose weight”. Instead, you should also watch the activity behind each keyword you put up strategically on your site: which keywords actually fetch you the most number of visits? Of these keywords, which ones actually end up with a sign-up or a sale? Jumpstart a system for keyword research that will breathe life into your online campaign by striking at the heart of your analytics tool.
3. Scratching just the surface of your web stats:
Okay, so you already have Google Analytics tracking the activity on your site. It’s been running for a good while now, gathering a lot of useful data that you can use to boost your blog’s earnings. But are you really making the most out of your analytics tool? Most bloggers just look at how many people are going to their site, taking note of how much time their visitors are spending on which web page, et cetera. These things, however, are nothing but surface detail, and focusing on them alone won’t help your blog earn more money.
A more productive strategy is to look into where your traffic is sourced from. Are they coming from search engines? Which keywords are bringing your visitors to your site? Maybe your e-mail campaign is hauling all your visitors in? Whatever it is, make sure that you know where your visitors are coming from so you know where your blog should go.
Take note, however, that an effective marketing campaign doesn’t ensure long-term success — not if your product isn’t up to par. Your best advertisement still lies in your product itself. No matter how good your promotional tactics are, a bad product will never sustain a profit for long. A good, reliable product will make its own waves when it’s introduced properly to its target market. Make some necessary changes to your online marketing strategy, and your blog or website will eventually yield a good amount of revenue for you.

What are some good companies to get a part time job at?
I’m just trying to find another part time job for this semester. Right now, I’m going to school part time and working part time at a preschool on campus. But the problem is that the preschool isn’t paying that much and I don’t have a whole lot of hours, but I love it there and I don’t really want to quit. So I’m just wondering if there are any companies that have good part time opportunities.

What type of work is legitimate for working at home and does not cost a lot of money?
I would like to work at home with out a large start up cost. Something that includes free tools to succeed with out paying for every tool to make it work.
Buy wholesale license, which will require you to register a busniess name it costs 10-20$ for this. The wholsale license is dirt cheap too. After you make a name, sign into ebay. www.ebay.com start selling items. Like for instance you dont have to have the item to start up an ad. Example; say you want to sell your neighbors car for him. Tell him you want certain percentage. Take some pictures, boost the price up maybe 50$ extra for yourself. Thats already one sale. Now say you want to sell computers or iphones or cell phones. You dont have to buy them to sell them. Post up and ad about what you want to sell. Find out through several companies what the cost is for you to buy it. than figure out what the going rates are on ebay, post up the ad for whatever, set your price you think you want to earn and is fair, and build up your feedback, remember when your shipping the items you posted ship them to the persons address directly from the place you ordered it so you dont have to pay for double shipping costs.. Ebay is really easy. But here is a tip. Sell multiple items in multiple categories. When i first started i sold one thing at a time. and it was too long before i got enough money to buy something. Until i listed at least 20 items on ebay and cost me only 10$ i profited well enough to last me a month. So it’s all in what you have dedication and time for. Work at home is great right now because companies are not paying enough anymore. You can sell things for your own personal gains. Trust me it works well enough. Good Luck.
Writing Effective Surveys
Writing surveys is easy; isn’t it? The truth is that creating surveys is easy but creating effective surveys is more difficult. The following twenty tips will help you with your survey questionnaire design.
1. What is the survey’s purpose?
There are many reasons for conducting questionnaires. By correctly phrasing the questions and structuring the answers surveys can be used in a multitude of ways and for a variety of reasons. When compiling a survey don’t lose sight of the survey’s purpose.
2. Title the survey
The survey title is a golden opportunity to instantly summarise a survey’s objective and grab the attention of invited respondents. Respondents need to invest time in completing the survey so make them feel that their investment is worthwhile.
3. Do not make the survey any longer than it needs to be
Every question asked should be asked for a reason. Limit asking questions that will provide you with ‘nice to know’ information and instead concentrate on the ‘need to know’ questions.
4. Use plain English, maintain consistency and avoid jargon, acronyms and asking questions that could result in ambiguous answers
Be careful when wording the question. If a question can be interpreted in more ways than one then there is a real risk that any analysis of the resulting survey data will be worthless or at the very least suspect.
5. Avoid long questions
Use succinct sentences wherever possible. Long questions can cause a respondent discomfort and lead to them abandoning the survey.
6. Ask one question at a time
Avoid confusing the respondent with a question like ‘Do you like tennis and football?’
7. Don’t influence the answer
Do not load the question. ‘Should irresponsible shop keepers who sell alcohol to children be prosecuted?’ is likely to have no value.
8. Ensure that the chosen answer format allows the respondent to answer the question being asked
Allow the respondent to answer how they really feel or they may be less inclined to complete the survey. As a last resort consider the benefit of including a “No comment”, “Can’t say” or similar response option.
9. While you are compiling your survey consider how the compiled data is going be analysed when the survey is complete
When asking questions that allow for a free text open ended response appreciate that such information is likely to be difficult to score and/or summarised. Consider how the answers could be grouped. For example “Indicate your length of service?” – ‘less than 2 year’, ‘between 2 and 5 years’ and ‘more than 5′.
10. Ensure that the questionnaire flows
Group questions into clear categories as this will make it easier for the participants completing the survey.
11. Target your respondents carefully
In some cases you will want to target a specific group, in others a cross section. If you can’t control who responds to your survey consider including questions/answers that will allow you to filter out respondents who don’t fit your target profile.
12. Allow the respondent to expand or make comments
Allowing the respondent to make additional comments will increase their satisfaction level and will also give valuable feedback on the specific questions and/or the survey as a whole. Keep in mind though that for a large sample collection it may be difficult to analyze free text open ended responses.
13. If you are conducting a confidential survey ensure that your pledge for confidentiality is honoured
If you have assured respondents that the survey is to be confidential you need to ensure that the collated data is not shared with anyone or used for any other purpose. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times and any contact information destroyed once the survey has finished.
14. Weigh up the advantages of allowing respondents to be anonymous or identifiable
If your respondents are to be anonymous then you will be unable to follow up specific complaints or match “pre” or “post” surveys. Allowing respondents to remain anonymous will however allow respondents to respond without possible peer pressure.
15. Carefully consider what the best response format will be
It is good practice to maintain a consistency in the format used for responses. When designing your survey keep in mind that when analysing the data single selection radio buttons are easier to analyse than multiple selection check boxes. Do not use a check box format if a radio response format would do.
16. Inform the respondent as to how much time the survey will take to complete
Respondent drop out can occur if the survey appears to be a stream of never ending questions. It is good practice to indicate how long the survey is likely to take so that the participants can choose the best time to complete the survey.
17. Provide respondents with the survey end date
Encourage your invited respondents to complete the survey as soon as possible but advise the respondents of the survey’s end date so that they have the opportunity to schedule the necessary time.
18. Pilot the survey
Before publishing a live survey publish a pilot survey to check for questions that are ambiguous or confusing and to confirm that the survey is aesthetically pleasing.
19. Before publishing the survey proof read the survey carefully
Carefully check and then check again that the survey is grammatically correct and makes sense. If practical get a colleague to check the survey before you publish, if you are unable to do this then take a break before checking again.
20. Thank the respondents
Respondents devote their time when completing surveys and should therefore be thanked at the end of completing the survey or in a follow up letter. You may even want to consider incentives such as entry into a prize draw or a reward.
Getting started is easy and there are many survey software websites to choose from.
Doctor Who: Time Crash – Special Edition (Part 1)
We’ve already seen the Doctor Who multi-doctor episode “Time Crash” from 10th Doctor’s perspective. This is a special edition version of the episode specifically from the 5th Doctor’s perspective.
PS. This is the ORIGINAL video as put up by the ORIGINAL producer. Please recognise that all other appearances of this video are FAKE.
P.S. Yes unfortunately, there was no way to get the hat to appear through all of the episode as there are no shots of Davison wearing the hat for any reasonable period in the TARDIS that could have fitted in the video convincingly enough. Trying to would only look even more silly, and the video much less smooth and professional.
P.S. I have a new webpage now. Nothing special as it is my first, but if you would like to take a look, you can find it at:

I look forward to any future visitors.

How mych does a part time and a casual persona at a Coles supermarket earn?
im looking for a job at coles supermarkt and i was wondering how much does a casual and a part time person earn hourly?
Casual- around $10-$11 if you’re 16, more if you’re older.
How do i choose? To go back to my current job, or to stay at home and work from home and study?
My worst weakness is in making decisions. I cant even decide what chocolate bar i want! So when it comes to big decisions it is hard.
On maternity leave at moment, was only working part time though, baby is 5 months, have two older kids. Its been good to be there more for my older kids picking up from school, going to assembly when they have wanted me to see them sing or get an award etc.
Would like to finish off studies that i started years ago. Kind of means a career change which is a bit scary.
I did really enjoy my work though (not all aspects however).
I also dont like being at home all the time. I would need to get out regularly so i dont go stir crazy.
Of course money would be tighter if i didnt go back to work. Husband would prefer i go back i think. But if i really wanted to stay at home and study he would be okay with it.
Then there is childcare to worry about. Can be good to have a break but then sickness etc…
Please any suggestions or advice?
I say stay at home and find something that would be a good deal to bring in a little extra income. It is valuable to be able to attend things with your kids and that is something that you could never get back. I wish that I had the opportunity to do that instead of working sometimes. Maybe one of these days though! So, stay home, it will save on childcare expenses and give you and your children memories of you being there for them all the time!
How Do I Determine The Best Domain Name?
The preliminary step to start up a website is the registration of a domain name. Whether you are a doctor, lawyer, plumber, aluminum siding salesman, or if you want to start up a website to feature your family dog Spot, the entire enterprise begins with the registration of your domain name.
Next you might ask- “What is a good choice of domain name?”. Well it depends. For example, if you are someone who wants to build a website devoted to your cat, then the answer is that the choice of a domain name really doesn’t matter. What’s the difference? Most likely in that instance you’re not looking for lots of traffic, you’re really only targeting friends and family, to keep them up to date. You could pick something really obscure, something unique to you and your family, from the sublime to the ridiculous, and it won’t matter because you are not necessarily looking for great amounts of traffic to your site.
So you can name a website anything as long as it is only meant for a select few. It’s only if traffic is a factor and you want to attract customers, and as many as possible, that the domain name you choose to register really matters. So……
What if the website is for business? What if you want it to attract attention?
It really pays to have a domain name that draws attention to your site or business. Put some thought into how people search. For example, if your company sells insurance or doughnuts or bowling pins or toilet bowls, find a way to incorporate WHAT YOU DO in the website domain name. So be sure and choose carefully when deciding on a domain name. Best case scenario is to get the name of your business as a dot com or dot net, etc. In lieu of that, at least try to get the category of business that you are in incorporated in your domain name. For example, a plumbing website should have a domain name like plumbers.com or bobtheplumber.com, something that immediately associates the domain name with the theme of the site. It’s all about branding, and making a lasting impression on the target audience or customers.
The WhoIs database contains all domain names registered, and when you are searching it will show whether or not your desired name is already registered. I have conveniently placed a domain name search engine on StartYourWebsiteToday.com for this very purpose. After searching for the domain name, you will instantly know whether or not the domain name is available, and if so, give you the option to immediately register it. If it’s not available, several alternative domain names will be proposed, to help you fine tune your search, or possibly giving you an acceptable alternative domain name to register instead.
Real Estate Investing Strategies For Today’s Market
A number of things likely come to mind when you think of real estate investing. You likely leap to real estate investing as real estate portfolios and real estate retirement plans, and then you may expand to thinking of short sales, bulk reo investing or virtual real estate investing. Likely you also wonder how these things will factor into your life as a real estate investor in the current economy.
There is a lot to learn about real estate investing. Getting the most out of real estate investing education involves being familiar with basic RE info. Whether you are interested in short sales, bulk reo sales, virtual real estate or just improving your abilities as a real estate investor, you need to know some real estate investing basics in order to succeed. Here are three real estate investing basics that even some experts do not really know:
1. You will always end up with a positive yield when you invest in real estate investing education. In any real estate deal, there will be thousands of dollars in potential wealth. Getting the wealth is the key to your success. Learning as much as possible about real estate will increase your odds of success whenever you do a real estate deal. Small investments yield big results when you invest in learning and then implement what you learn.
2. Real estate investing success is possible in any economy. Many people are under the misconception that success is possible in real estate only when the economy is good. You should remember that a bad economic situation is not usually bad for real estate investors. You will likely find properties that you can buy at deep discounts. You might also find deals that simply would not exist in a booming economy. Real estate investing often is what turns the tide for poor economies. When the economy is not so good, short sales, bulk reo sales and virtual real estate are great. You will have the option of saving yourself and possibly others from serious financial difficulties if you know about these types of deals.
3. You do not need lots of your own cash to be a successful real estate investor. You can succeed in real estate investing no matter how much money you have. Many types of deals enable you to use other people’s money to do them. If you are a good investment private lenders may let you use their money. A good investment will know as much as they can about real estate investing. This will help you show people that you are a good investment if they have the money to help you with real estate investing but they do not know how to use it.
You can generate lots of wealth by real estate investing. You will be able to create an income no matter what the economy. You can create success for yourself using knowledge of real estate investing, short sales, bulk reo sales and virtual real estate. Knowing real estate investing basics will help you succeed as a real estate investor.
A Website Survey Makes Sense
There are ample tools available to a webmaster to enable them to analyse website traffic and monitor the number of visitors, see what web pages have been accessed and even the length of time visitors spend accessing the website.
However, despite the vast amount of detailed information that can be collected what will always be missing is information that will tell the webmaster exactly what the visitor was thinking. Did they like or dislike the site? Was the layout easy to understand or just plain confusing? Was it easy to navigate the website and were they able to find the information they wanted?
A website may be generating sales but why are some people that visit the website not buying anything? Was it because they didn’t like what was being offered or they couldn’t find what they wanted?
Online surveys provide webmasters with an accurate method of answering these types of questions. Direct feedback from the website visitors cuts to the chase, there is no longer any need to guess, just ask the visitors directly how they arrived at the site and if they were able to find what they were looking for.
With an online survey webmasters can find out:-
- How often do people visit the website?
- How did they discover the website?
- Is their interest in the website for reasons of business or pleasure?
- Were they able to find the information they were looking for?
- How easy did they find navigating the website?
- Would they be willing to recommend the website to others?
A good website survey will be brief and will gather information that once analysed will provide valuable information to help improve the website.
An alternative to a more traditional customer survey would be to ask just one or two questions at strategic points. For example at the end of the registration process the visitor can be asked if they found the procedure quick and easy; after ordering an item they could be asked if they found the ordering procedure and payment methods to their liking. To avoid regular visitors from being canvassed every time they visit, the website can be configured so that they are only ever asked once.
Website surveys take the mystery out of working out what visitors think of a website and using Online Survey Software they are quick and easy to design and once implemented will really become the webmaster’s assistant.

Search Engines Are Getting Smarter, Add Free Content To Build Your Ranking
Locating free articles as content to place in your website provides valuable assistance to your website ranking in the search engines. First off, free web content articles provide direct niche content that your viewers are always looking for.More content leads to longer viewing times, which eventually can translate into sales and a trust factor for your site.I cannot really see many circumstances where more quality content would ever hurt a site – almost every scenario it is better.Additional keywords can be specifically targeted with your new content, adding potential customers and viewers to your site.
One of the best things to remember when creating articles is to tailor them to be as specific to your site content as possible. If you have a site that sells fishing gear, you dont want articles somewhere on your site about baseball card collecting – people come to your site to buy fishing gear and learn about fishing and techniques. Often the addition of a blog to a site about the niche is a great addition, as you can post all the articles you find interesting to this blog. Its simple to do, and best of all its free. One great benefit of adding lots of niche content is users will bookmark your site and come back often to read more. The big thing is to add content to make your site more interesting – this expands your audience. Often times you can also add an RSS feed from specific article sites to automatically update your content so it always appears fresh. This is a great option for those people who simply do not have the time to update content themselves every day or every few days.Blogs by others, or an article directory are often a terrific source of web content, all of which you can pull in using an RSS feed. One of the benefits to using RSS feeds is they automatically pull the content to your site whenever the source adds information.
Whichever method you choose to get the content on the website, usually this will equate to higher search engine rankings as they get smarter about assessing the quality of sites and knock down the ones that don’t meet the benchmarks for quality. This will also start to remove sites that dont have as much content or do not really work on it – their hurt is your gain. Using an article directory is a must have for those looking to build up the back links to their websites.
Designing Customer Satisfaction Surveys that Work
Why should you bother?
The life blood of any business is good customer service. Although new customers are very important good customer service will help generate customer loyalty and repeat business. With every satisfied customer your business is likely to go on and secure many more customers through recommendations and if you do not take proper care of your customers there is probably a competitor waiting in the wings that will.
Online customer satisfaction surveys will help by not only identifying problem areas but show that you care and are proactive in looking for ways to improve the service that you provide.
Where do you start?
Objective – Before you start creating your survey clarify the objectives of the survey, in that way you will find it easier to decide what are the right questions to ask.
Analysis – In addition to the objective consider also how you will analyse the answers having completed the survey.
Keep in mind that ‘closed’ questions (where the respondent is asked to choose from a limited number of responses) are easier to analyse than ‘open’ questions (where the respondent can reply in anyway they want).
A lot will depend on the volume of respondents, the higher the volume the more important it is to have an easy method of analysing the results.
Opportunity – As well as obtaining valuable market research data keep in mind that customer surveys are also a good way to advertise areas of your service that your customers may not be aware of.
After you have drafted your survey read through the survey from a market research view point and check that you are asking the right questions in the right way and that with the feedback information you will be able to make informed decisions.
Then, read through the survey from a marketing view point, check that you have phrased each question so that every opportunity has been taken to promote your business?
The ideal question will perform the following three functions:-
- Market research – provide valuable feedback to help you improve your customer satisfaction levels and in turn your business
- Marketing – promote aspects of your business
- Information/Education – advertise a service that you provide that your customers may not have been unaware of
For example:- Do you find the in-store baby changing facilities useful?
By asking this question not only will the store receive good feedback on the facility they provide but they will also advertise their baby changing facilities and promote themselves as a family friendly store beyond those customers who have a specific need for the facility provided.
Warts and all – to benefit most from a customer survey you need to be prepared to accept criticism.
A well designed customer satisfaction survey will enable you to identify problems so that they can be addressed; regular customer satisfaction will prevent complacency and give you early warning on where you might be losing out to your competitors initiatives.
What to ask?
Depending on their own particular size and makeup each business is likely to have unique factors in relation to providing good customer services however there are common areas relevant to all businesses be they a physical store, online store or a service industry. The following are key areas to providing good customer service.
Communication – Is it easy for your customers to communicate with you?
When a customer telephones is their call answered promptly; are enquiries about products or services handled properly? Good businesses will make every effort to ensure that whatever the customers query it is resolved by the right person, politely, quickly and fairly.
If a problem is not resolvable immediately do you promise to respond in a given time period and do you deliver on your promise?
Use a customer satisfaction survey to confirm that your customers find all your staff to be helpful, courteous and knowledgeable.
Location – Do your customers find it easy to visit you, if a physical bricks and mortar store, is it conveniently located with good access?
Making it pleasant, making it easy – For an internet business it is important to ensure that your website is aesthetically pleasing and easy to use.
Regardless of the store being a bricks and mortar or purely an online internet store, is the store properly laid out, can your customers find what they need and is there sufficient information and help on hand to explain how a particular product works?
The right quality products – In addition to measuring the quality of the service that you provide you should ensure that the products and services that you provide do fully match your customers’ requirements.
Value for money – Cheap or expensive is not always a good measure, value for money is.
Do your customers consider that the products you sell or the services you provide are value for money, if not, why not?
Speed and attention – No matter what the business, the majority of customers will want to be dealt with quickly but attentively.
Are you doing everything to prevent any delays?
A good business will try to treat each customer as an individual, does yours? Attention is one thing but only if it leads to a quick and satisfactory resolution to the query.
Demographics and Specific issues – Take the opportunity to profile your customers, for example their gender, age group and where they live?
By understanding your customers more, the better your chances of correctly targeting your business.
Encourage customers to highlight their specific problems and provide contact details.
What next?
Having completed the survey analyse the results.
Trends – Identify specific and common areas where the service needs improving.
Ask yourself honestly if any criticism that you receive is valid and if there anything that can be done to resolve or minimise the problem?
Training – Are the staff properly trained and do they have sufficient knowledge?
Where customer service training programs have been implemented have they had the desired effect and improved the customer experience?
Follow-up – If a customer who has completed a survey has raised a specific issue do all you can to ensure that their complaint is addressed.
Do not lose a customer by squandering an opportunity to resolve a problem.
Continuously Monitor – Make changes based on the survey results and then re-measure by issuing follow up surveys.
If you are interested in tracking customer satisfaction and would like to see a sample survey for a store that demonstrates some of the above advice please view the following example that can be used as a customer satisfaction survey template.
Are You Suited to Being Your Own Boss?
Many people dream about cutting out the middleman and being their own boss, but it’s no simple option and is certainly not for everyone. Have you ever dreamt of handing your resignation letter to your boss and telling them that you’ve got better plans of your own? Do you got what it takes to make a name for yourself????
You are lookin’ at the person that did JUST that… With wonderful glee I handed my boss my resignation letter and told him that I had better plans for my own business. I had worked at the same place for 20 years.. and had grown used to getting a paycheck without really having to work too terribly hard for it. Now I own my own business and I work like a madman every day… but I love it! I make my own schedule, I work completely focused and without interruption… and I am so excited to be moving into territory that is new, exciting, and challenging for me!!! No more drama, no more crap, no more taking it on the chin. I am my own person and am rewarded for how hard I work… and if I want to take a break in the middle of the day and hit the pool? Yup. I can do that too. I do have what it takes to make a name for myself… and my clients!!! Yay me!
How long does it take to complete the cosmetology program going part time?
I will be attending HCC (Houston Community College) this Fall part-time studying Cosmetology. Does anyone know how long it will take to complete the course, with no days being missed from class on my part?
it usually only takes like ten months to a year to do a regular cosmetology program so i would assume it would take you double that.
Where can I find a legit work at home company?
I need to work at home and make money. Please help me and inform me a good online opportunity.
This one is a real program http://www.googleadvertise.com They are legitimate and you could make money with this opportunity at home. I like them and their interested tools.
Market to the Online Generation Using Surveys and Questionnaires
Your customers are demanding. They’re extremely media aware and increasingly cynical – it’s a clever marketeer who can get through to them. Online surveys modernizes the traditional format – all the benefits of the Internet without the programming. Here are ten reasons why they may be the silver bullet marketeers’ need, complete with examples supplied by Martin Day, managing director of Survey Galaxy – one of a new breed of websites making online surveys quicker and cheaper
1. It’s cheap as buttons
Select the right survey website and creating surveys can be free of any charge and the cost to publish is minimal.
Information harvested from surveys can be reused and repackaged in other marketing and PR for use in press outlets making it a very efficient form of information gathering.
2. It’s easy
Anyone can create and publish an online survey. Using an online survey website only basic browser skills is required to create professional looking surveys that when published ate simple to comcomplete.
3. Deployment options
Promoting an online survey can be via email (with a link enclosed), through a link from a website or as a referenced by other forms of advertising. Anyone who has the URL can be connected instantly to the survey, at a time that’s convenient to them, 24×7.
4. We’ve all got an opinion – and we like to give it
Customers do not associate surveys as spam and most welcome the opportunity to make their voice heard and a chance to have an impact on a brand. They can be particularly good for change management projects; a survey asking a workforce on their opinion of change allows the key issues to be raised in a positive manner and encourages employee participation. Online surveys allow the message to reach each individual and invite feedback in a manageable form.
5. Get inside your respondent’s head
With traditional advertising you can lead a customer to an advertisement but you can’t make them think. Surveys have the advantage of engaging each respondent, who thinks about the question before giving their response.
6. Beautiful relationships start here
It needn’t all end once a survey has been completed – while you have their attention you can ask if they want to sign up for more information or a regular newsletter – making the most of the window when you have their interest.
7. Have you also seen….
Maximise the interest of those responding to your survey by referencing related information. By embedding links within the survey you are able to reinforce the marketing message.
8. The soft sell
Surveys can associate a product with a number of positive attributes. By listing a product’s features and then asking the respondent to score on how important they are, regardless of their response, the product will be associated with the feature.
9. Not just marketing
A survey is an effective, quick and easy method to promote and gain acceptance for a difficult proposal; maybe a public body trying to gain acceptance and support for a particular scheme.
For example take a city trying to gain support from the general public for their bid to host a future Olympic Games. With a survey you have the opportunity to explain each benefit putting the respondent in a much better frame of mind to appreciate an argument and be more positive in their response. As well as promoting the cause, useful feedback is gained that can be used to fine tune the overall marketing strategy.
10. Engage interest
Thinking laterally a lively and imaginative approach to surveys can provide the ‘hook’ to engage respondents. The survey subject can be targeted at a particular group on a subject close to theirs hearts. A survey’s marketing message can take the form of a simple brand awareness message by stating that the survey is being sponsored by brand name, or by finding a link from the subject matter to the product – something that is surprisingly easy and highly effective.
Discover the benefits of including in your website a Public Survey section as many people who enjoy completing crosswords and doing word puzzles enjoy completing surveys. Having a public survey notice board as part of a website is a low cost and automated method that helps to increase traffic and establish a loyal and returning following. Unlike discussion boards there is no opportunity for people to disrupt the site by inappropriate remarks as the survey results are displayed in summary form enabling them to dispense with moderators and maintenance.
The majority of customers do not view surveys as spam and will in fact welcome the opportunity to voice their opinion and have the chance to make an impact on a brand.
Many of the techniques and a few more are contained in the following Sample Marketing Survey.
