I work in a pub in Alberta, Canada and my boss is constantly telling me that he owns my tips and if he wanted he could keep them. I was just wondering if this was true.
If they tips are included in the bill then yes, he does own the right to them
If on the other hand, these tips are given to you (when they dont have to be) these are GIFTS from the customers to you and your boss has no right to say that you cannot have them.

Be careful, your boss can Make you claim ALL tips on your wages.
And make you pay income and social tax’s on them.
And they can prevent you from accepting tips, while at work.
