You can do part time without second thought as your employer is nothing to do with your personal time. ie after your office hours. Whatever the TDS deducted will be updated in your PAN account. They cant get your details. I would suggest you to maintain your personal business in some new bank account other than salary account.

I have just been hired and was told I am a part time employee, but the company has scheduled me for 2 consecutive 40-hour work weeks. Can they do that without classifying me as full time, or can I demand fewer hours if they insist on keeping me as part-time?

You are obviously a full time employee if you are working 40 hours a weeks and you are entitled to full time benefits. If they want you to continue to work 40 hours they should be required to classify you as full time.

So I’m studying to become a teacher, but I want to incorporate aviation in my life throughout my career. I’m going to pursue a PPL probably in my first year that I find a teaching job (which is hopefully a year from now) and may upgrade that license as required. I’m wondering if there are any options that would allow me to fly part-time during July/August or on the odd weekend throughout the year.

Not many. Flight instructing is your main choice, but it is hard to teach flying and be dedicated to the profession and your students if you are only part-time. There is also sightseeing, bush flying and banner towing, but these have a longer season than most teachers are off during the summer and few operators are willing to hire anyone except the most experienced pilots for only 2 months or weekends only. I worked 7 seasons as a bush pilot and no one would consider me for a period shorter than 3 months. Most wanted a 6 month comittment. And you can forget flying large aircraft – it’s simply not going to happen on a teachers schedule. The only other options I can think of are missionary or mercy flying, primarily as an unpaid volunteer.

I’m about to become a part time student again after having 3 years in paid employment. I am studying jewellery making from september. Ideally I would like to work in a jewellery environment but obviously I have no experience yet. Is it possible to get a part time position in this field that isn’t in retail? I’m quite shy! I have been wanting to get into real estate for a while. Our area in Kentucky hasn’t been affect as bad as the rest of country by the housing slump. If you believe that you can juggle two jobs at once, then being a Realtor is probably a great choice. The thing you want to keep in mind is that Realtor’s are often at the mercy of potential home buyers. If they can’t work in the evening or meet on the weekend, you are going to have to take off time from your real job, so go meet them.

Start making connections with agencies and other Realtors, so that you can break into the job market. You need people to trust you, so practice those people skills !

As I have been desperate for work as been jobless for 6 months, I manged to get an interview with the shop in the village for a part time role. My previous jobs for the past 5 years have been full time. Then the last two are paid about 15% more per hour. I would like some advice on how to answer these without the interviewer thinking ‘I’m bored and need money’.

You don’t need to explain to them what your past wages were, unless you give it to them.

Tell them that you are interested in this position with the hopes of one day going full time if it is offered.

In the meantime keep looking and this will give you an opportunity to look for another full time job, while you are working part time. Make the best of it while you can.

I hope so. People who have jobs shouldn’t be getting unemployment checks anyway. They are to help you get by until you do get employed. Hence the name UNemployment checks. Please don’t do like my brother-in-law did and try to keep your earnings under the cap so you still get "benefits". Get as good a job as you can and don’t try to milk the system.

How long does the average teenager keep a part-time job? Is 11 months good or should I keep it for longer?

11 – 12 months is good; you are young and employers expect that you will have several job changes through your college years. At this point you are simply building work experience, not a career history.

The way you leave a job is with a written notice (usually two weeks.) Something along these lines is sufficient:

Dear Mr./Ms. Boss,

Please accept this letter as my notice of resignation, effective (date.) I will be returning to school.

Thank you for the opportunities you have given me.
I have enjoyed my time with Company A, and wish you and everyone here continued success.

I don’t understand how credit hours work. Part-time I think is 12 credit hours a semester and full-time is 15 credit hours. If I went part time does that mean that I have to get 12 hours a week?

What I am about to tell you is true for MOST but NOT ALL schools. A regular class like math, english, ect is worth 3 credit hours. A science class with a lab is worth 4 credit hours. At most schools 12 credit hours a week or more is full time and 11 credit hours or less is part time. So you would need to take about 4-5 classes to be full time.

Most of what you’re seeing and looking at and for are scams.

No, you cannot get paid $200 (or $100, or $50, or $10) a day just by entering some information. There’s even a poster here who’s promoting these online surveys and at least she’s providing links to actual checks she’s received. (The fine print reveals she gets paid extra by those companies for posting those checks online.) Still, they’re for small amounts of money–like $30 a month.

You’re a college student. You’re a smart kid. Figure out something people really will be willing to pay you for. One caution: It’s difficult to make "easy money." Extra: Yes. Even good money: Yes. But "easy money"? Very, very rare.

Oh, and never pay an up-front registration fee. Never.
